Vogue Fem classes (Sept - Dec 2025)
About this event
Voguing emerged from the ballroom culture in Harlem, New York from the 1960s throughout the 1980s. Ballroom culture was originally created by the Black and Latino LGBTQ-community to create a safe space in which they could freely express themselves and feel a sense of belonging.
Vogue Fem was created by trans women in the ballroom community as a performance category in which they could express their femininity more than in Old Way and New Way. In Vogue Fem, there are five elements: catwalk, duckwalk, floor performance, hands, and spins & dips.
Since 2020, our weekly Vogue Fem classes have been taught by Typhoon, Legendary European Father of the House of Basquiat, and Legendary Founding Father of the Kiki House of Angels.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONs
Anyone is welcome to join the class. You do not need to have any dance experience or background. At the classes, we welcome people from all walks of life, but please be aware that this is a safer space for queer and trans people, particularly people of color.
You can join any week. Every class is different, so you can drop in any time.
You can wear anything you’d like. We advise you to wear light, comfortable clothes that you feel good to move in. Because of the studio floor, heels are not allowed.
