ABOUT THIS PROGRAM

Doll House is a workshop series for people who want to explore their femininity. It’s made for trans-femmes, gender non-conforming people, and all queer people who want support with how they look, feel, and show up in the world.

There are 8 sessions. You’ll learn practical stuff like applying make-up and installing and styling wigs, all in a safer space where people get what you’re going through. Sessions are run by Fem Queens from the community who’ve been where you are.

You don’t need to know exactly who you are or how you want to express yourself. You just need curiosity and a willingness to try. Doll House is for anyone who wants to feel more confident in their femininity and connect with others doing the same.

Participant Experiences

“Ballroom gave me the space to fully embrace who I am through the expression of my gender, my fashion, and my self-worth in general. I thank ballroom for the person I am today and for the community it has given me.”

“Utrecht Ballroom Scene is a place where I feel safe and can express myself as a trans woman. It gave me a close-knit community when I first arrived in the Netherlands alone. Ballroom makes me a better person.”

“Being surrounded by like-minded people, especially other queer people of color, helped me understand and develop my identity and self-expression in a safer way. Ballroom has given me more confidence in myself and my abilities. Through the community activities and classes, it has significantly improved both my mental and physical health. Ballroom gave me the will to live and to want more for myself.”
